Hi there,
My name is David McCormack and I’m the new Rugby Development Officer for Jersey, taking over from Mark White. I officially started on 1st September 2009.
Firstly, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I’ve always been passionate about rugby. As well as being a qualified P.E teacher, I’ve been playing rugby for Otley RUFC in National League I and I’ve just completed the RFU Level 2 Rugby Coaching qualification. I think it’s my academic background, combined with the fact I’ve been playing professionally for the last ten years, that’s given me the necessary skills and experience to really get stuck in, and hopefully inspire all those around me!
I’m really looking forward to developing the role of rugby in the Island and help moving it on to the next level. I’ll be doing this assisted by both the Jersey Rugby Development Committee, and our sponsor, FirstRand Private Wealth Management.
There’ll be lots of new and exciting things going on throughout 2010, and we’ll be putting lots of info up here for you to keep track of what’s happening when and where. So watch this space!
It really is such a huge honour to be given this chance and I intend to make the most of each and every minute!
See you soon, David McCormack
